Almost all of my writing has been for specific individuals, groups or classes. It took the form of interpretations of astrological charts; reports, newsletters, handouts for Life Skills classes and a few essays. I had no intention of becoming a writer, since as far as I was concerned there were too many excellent books already. However, a few years ago a friend of mine plunked his old IBM on my desk and wouldn't stop bugging me until I wrote the first draft of

Saving Your Soul,
A Layperson's Guide to Sanity, Spirituality and having a Life.

The first draft was awful so I wrote a second and a third. Then I started looking for a few readers to critique it. The only person to actually do so TOLD me it wasn't publishable. 2 other friends read it, said they liked it, but offered nothing concrete. A number of very literate people have asked to read it, but so far I haven't heard anything back from them.

Then I cut the manuscript into small, relatively digestible pieces and published some of them on Themestream and the Vine. The applause was underwhelming. However, I originally wrote it as a book and that is why it is here.

Criticism, comments and applause is humbly requested. After all, it is and will continue to be a work in process.
